Duties
The County Managers Office is responsible for implementing policy approved by the County Commission. Day to day operations of County's Government is coordinated by the County Manager. Leadership and direction is provided to Division Supervisors through various communication methods. Rules, regulations, ordinances, policies and procedures are normally initiated in the County Manager's Office. The County Attorney on a contract basis provides legal consultation and advice to the County Commission, County Manager and the various Division Supervisors. Legal services are provided day to day and at various meetings.

The County Manager is the chief executive officer of the County. He is employed by the County Commission to conduct the day-to-day business of the County, and to assist the Commission in exercising its duties and responsibilities.
The County Manager oversees the entire operation of county government. His duties include the supervision of county employees, monitoring and directing all county departments, preparing the county budget, maintaining all county property and equipment, securing state and federal funds for county projects, and insuring that the County complies with all state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
The County Manager reports directly to the Board of County Commissioners, and by law is required to “conduct the business of the county, and to serve as personnel officer, fiscal director, budget officer, property custodian, and to act generally as the administrative assistant to the Board of County Commissioners, aiding and assisting the Board in the exercise of its duties and responsibilities.”
